Dr Kristie Wood
Dr Wood was born in Greensboro North Carolina in 1972 and moved to Atlanta when she was 5. She graduated form North Springs High School in 1990 then attended the Georgia Institute of Technology for two years then transferred to the University of Georgia for a year and got early acceptance to the Veterinary school and graduated in the class of 1997. She has been practicing at Vernon Woods Animal Hospital for the past 14 years and opened Wood Animal Hospital in May 2011.
She has a passion for the animals and their “people” who care for them and feels like she is an educator to help the owners make the best decisions for their pets and their families.
She has 1 handsome yellow "dudley" labrador retriever named Kirby whom she adores. She lost “Tanner”, "Dixie", "Woody" and Ben, but they still hold a place in her heart and their pictures are now on our lobby wall. Their images smile at her while they watch her fulfill her dreams of caring for these great creatures.
Dr Wood has a 19 year old daughter named Kaitlyn who says she wants to work beside her in their own practice one day. Kyle, her husband, has helped her realize her dream and helped it all come true.
"I hope that my practice grows and my “family” gets bigger and better with each new client and patient that I meet. I love what I do and can’t wait to meet you and your family". Dr Wood.
